Georgetown Hospital System Foundation

Mission Statement

The Foundation Board of Georgetown Hospital System represents combined efforts of promoting philanthropy within our community, and beyond, in support of our hospital’s programs and services. The Foundation Board will direct all fund development activities in such a manner as to support the hospital’s initiatives and secure resources necessary to support our mission as healthcare providers.

The Georgetown Hospital System Foundation Board supports the needs of our hospital as identified by the Board of Trustees and Administrative staff. These volunteers work to raise funds for projects such as building helipads at both hospitals, the cancer treatment center, the hospital’s endowment fund and many other areas that help expand the services we provide at Georgetown Hospital System.

Established in 1990, the Foundation has raised almost $10 million in gifts. In addition to raising money, dedicated Foundation Board members work as ambassadors in the community. Keeping people in the community abreast of expanded services and new physicians is one of the major roles of the Board. While there are monthly meetings for both Boards, the committees are hard at work during the entire year planning and executing fund raising events and educational programs. Additionally, grants and major gift proposals are being developed on a regular basis in the Foundation office to support the healthcare needs of the community.
